Urich, not Ulrich

Well, got that fixed, the funny part  is that Robert Ulrich is a director for tv-series like Supernatural, while Robert Urich, whom I meant, is a now deceased actor.  But here is a link to a William Petersen site:

Man, that guy could work a turqoise shirt, black tie and black coat! Check out Manhunter from 1986.. :)

Yawn

Okay, now I´m feeling the fatigue hitting! I have my dissertation review tomorrow, after that I´m going home for a while, then I´ll be back in time for my work to begin. I´ll try to upload some images for once :)

aircondition, to be or not to be?

I´ve been reading litterature for one of the courses that I need to finish. I did this in our library at uni, which means not the information studies one or the main library, but the one for humanistic studies (yup that´s me). the bad part is that i had sort of a psychosomatic flu  after I finished my paper, you know the type, people get sick during the weekends and so on. Well the aircondition in this place sucks. It basically sucks up the air, cools it down and sends it back in, so not only do you get sleepy, you also get colds, which is what I may be risking now. Add my spring allergies to that and you have one cranky little student on your hands :) So I better get home and drink some c-vitamin or I´m in for a nice week.

I am however going to try this pattern out, because today is TV-day!

Someone had supersized the pattern, so that it was the size of a tote. Would be nice to try!

Yup, so Mondays are the bomb! It starts off with some Latinamerican soap opera, Mi Gorda Bella, then onto Ugly Betty, after that it´s Supernatural, then Sex in the City and finishes off with Cutting It. Lovely. I may otherwise think that Mondays suck, but this part I love!

Stargazin´

I finally found this old astrologysite that I saw a couple of years ago and haven´t found since. The layout is really nice, with a very pretty image map, so if you want to know something about astrology or check out a nice site, go here:

http://www.geocities.com/Athens/6853/index.html

Yup, you know a site is old, when it still has a geocities- city-name in the url.. ah, memories :)

Well, I turned in my essay/paper/disseration two days ago and I´m slowly returning to ordinary life. But I´m not done yet with my studies for this spring, now if only I could muster up some energy and get the remaining work for two courses done, I´d be happy.

Go Danish tv!

Excuse the short and brisk entry last time, I had to finish fast. Yeha, so go Danish tv. They´re showing ‘Anna Pihl’ a Danish police series about a single mother who is a cop and tries to do her work on an ethical level. It´s good, I like Iben Hjeile, who´s also around and then there is the very cute Paw Henriksen, who plays a cop too. Very nice very cute. Has the most adorable smile.

Otherwise my adrenaline level is rising considerably, my deadline for my dissertation/paper/essay/whatever- 20-30 pages long, is due Wednesday, so I´m trying to finish up all external stuff like questions in the questionaries that I´m using and so on. One very good cause for my stress is a max 3 page essay also due wednesday. Yikes. heh. My roomate is already done with her studies, has been since the beginning of May, imagine how different people´s schedules are :)

Becoming Martha

While I´m on a permanent adrenaline kick to finish my lower-degree-paper (20-30 pages, due next wednesday), I´m being forced to stretch my imaginationand my vallet since I´ve landed myself in a real mess with my visa-card. You really shouldn´t let students without permanent income other than studygrant have those!! We´re not talking huge sums of money, but it´s enough to keep me on my toes while waiting for my next bill. Can´t really spend any money until I know how much it is. Sound familliar? Well, thanks to my monetary mess, I´ve learned how to bake bread! Yup and I am trying out different recipes. This site is good for a lot, I not strictly vegan or even vegetarian, but they give good ideas.

http://www.fatfreevegan.com/

I almost freaked out when I noticed the recipe for my trusty Pineapple-Rice Curry had been missplaced. The reason why tht recipe rocks, is that it´s literally energy food, it picks you up and keeps you up! It also gives me opportunity to use a lot of indian spices that I seldom use otherwise. But I found it, so today I´ll be making a huge kettle full of that.

Oh my word, what a Eurovision contest..

The best part is that, no matter what language they sing in, they still keep up the show :)

Check out Go fug yourself´s article:http://gofugyourself.typepad.com/go_fug_yourself/2007/05/its_that_time_o.html#more

I mean, the only way to top Lordi (I´m not a big fan, just in awe) would have been for Ukraine to win, which they almost did. I found their show to be refreshing, partly because they were one of the few performers who didn´t take themselves seriously. A discoball-star hat and a chorus that sounded like “Goodbye Russia”, plus the outfits that cost a hundred discoballs their life- I mean, what´s not to like? The winner, Serbia had a very nice song, it was genuinly good, I also like the fact that the Eurovision contest is so open. But the part about the song getting chosen because of the music not the look, doesn´t hold up, I mean I don´t think there was a man in Europe who forgot the five or six models behind the singer.

Eurovision day

Yeah, a lot of people here in Finland are really waiting for this evening. Me, I´m mostly curious about how it ends. I used to be something of a Eurovision nut back when I was a kid, but then the show was quite different. Now everyone sings in english and sound pretty much the same. So yeah.

When I visited my grandmother while in Helsinki, she gave me all her knittingneedles and crocheting hooks! So now I have several pairs of dpns and crochethooks in different sizes, including some seriously huge sowing needles, that look scary, because they have a wider part close to the tip of the needle. They actually remind me of fishing hooks.
